Lowline Cattle are a breed of cattle originating in Australia. They were developed in 1929 at the Trangie Research Centre from a 100% Registered Angus Herd. Lowline not only taste excellent, but have great texture, tenderness beef characteristics, and exceptional ribeye area per hundred pounds of body weight resulting in very high yielding and high quality beef carcasses. A mature fullblood cow genrally stands about 36 inches to 42 inches tall and weighs anywhere from 650 lbs. to 950 lbs. A fullblood bull generally stands about 39 inches to 46 inches and weighs anywhere from 950 lbs. to 1350 lbs. Average birthweight of a calf is 42 lbs. to 52 lbs. but we've had calves weighing 60-62 lbs before. Lowlines are easy calvers and rarely ever need assistance at calving. Lowline are very docile and natually polled. They are perfect animals for small-acerage farmers and work very well with rotational grazing. I would strongly recomend these cattle to anyone.
